At our annual meeting in May, 2011, the NYSIPP Board supported by the membership voted to establish this PAC, and voted that half (50%) of dues payments would be dedicated to the PAC.

The goals of this committee are to “promote the improvement of state and local government in New York; to encourage interventional pain physicians, and others, to understand the nature and actions of their government as to important political issues and as to the records of office holders and candidates for elected office; to assist interventional pain physicians, their employees and others in organizing themselves for effective political action and in carrying out their civic and professional responsibilities.”

Part of NYSIPP’s mission is to ensure patient access to interventional pain medicine (or management) doctors and these treatments in the State of New York. This is the part of our mission where the PAC plays a critical role. While there is no guarantee of outcome, we know that NYSIPP is heard. To survive in today’s medico-political environment, we have to put our money where our mouth is and support candidates that understand our mission!
